With the approach of 2009 we welcome change starting with a new face for our website. We hope that it can become a useful portal for educating people about the welsh breed which we have become so fond of, while providing a support base for members to share news, renew memberships, check points, and list stock for sale, etc. Please take the time to familiarize yourself with the site and offer any suggestions to the webmaster. We welcome any news and photos you may have to share, so please check back often and stay involved.

Minutes from the board meeting 10.22.08
-We met at Friendly’s in Middleboro. Meeting opened at 630. In attendance were Patty, Amy, Joyce, Gail, Cheryl. Absent: Russ, Tina
-Minutes from the last meeting were read. Cheryl made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Gail seconded, all approved.
-The treasurer’s report was read. Cheryl made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report as read. Joyce seconded, all approved.
-Old business:
-The 2008 Bronze show—Patty summarized the show as a success, 25 ponies, the addition of about $1500 to the treasury.
-The Topsfield Down payment for 2008 show that was cancelled: Joyce offered to pursue a refund.
-Amount for Insurance—as a group we decided that we would examine other insurance rates to see if we could get a better price.
-Bank fees—as a group we decided that we would examine other banks to see if we could get a better deal, lower bank fees.

-AGM:
We agreed on the dates of either Dec 7 or 14, Cheryl’s restaurant or the Olive Garden in Taunton. Suzy is working on a package for the Olive Garden. We would like to have a silent auction with members donating items to be auctioned off.
-2009 Show:
Amy offered to check out show grounds in the area as possible sites for our show. Proposed dates are June 20-21, july 11-12, Aug 15-16
-News about NEWPCS:
We discussed affiliation with either the pedlar or equine journal to get news out about our club.
-NEWPCS store:
Amy would like to set up a store for NEWPCS on the CafePress website.
-Paypal:
Amy suggested that we set up Paypal so that people can purchase memberships on-line. That topic will be discussed further in the next meeting.
-Welsh classes at other shows:
Gail mentioned that some of the local shows have Welsh Classes that we might want to make our members aware of.
-Membership drive:
As a group we discussed a free 3-month trial membership.
-Our next meeting will be in November, via email.
-At 750 Cheryl proposed closing the meeting, seconded by Joyce, approved by all.
